Re: [rosacea] Re: Which RLT unit?

Thanks Aurelia! You are quite right. I do react to heat and that was one of my major concerns. I did get to speak with some people who have had success with LLLT and I think the 2 choices I have narrowed it down to are my best bet. There is a slight amount of heat from the DPL unit but the people I spoke to about this (who also react to heat) say they were able to tolerate it. The first 2 weeks I may become more reactive but the key is to start slowly. There is a money back warranty of 30 days I think, which may not really be enough time to decide if I will be able to tolerate it. But I figure it's worth the risk. After all, I have spent thousands already on trying to control my flushing and burning (lasers). LLLT really works well for many people so keep your fingers crossed that it will help me!! :) I won't be starting until mid October as we are going on our annual autumn New England trip for the first 2 weeks in October. I will keep you posted! Thanks for your input Aurelia. As always, much valued and appreciated!! Although not an expert on Red Light Therapy (or any other subject ;), I did write a reply with my thoughts, but couldn't get online and then lost the message somewhere or other. In case you are curious, it was roughly along the following lines. (Sorry if this is too late to be of any use.) My feeling is that although RLT is, as almost everyone acknowledges, both safe and gentle, it still makes sense to approach the topic with some caution if you are in one of a few limited categories. For example, someone who reacts badly to sunlight might not get any benefit from fluorescent skin lamps, while someone who reacts badly to heat might not get on with a skin lamp that gets hot. Given that heat is a major trigger for your flushing, wouldn't you be better off going for the plain LEDs? Kind regards,Aurelia ---------------------------------Be a better Globetrotter.
